A reunion.

This weekend was the Dean Family Reunion at the Adventure & Learning Park, and Lailah had fun, and even met some new friends.

Ha Ha, in all but 5 minutes of meeting each other, these girls were holding hands. Too sweet. =)

 Finding Acorns.
Lailah was absolutely fascinated with this little baby. She kept peaking in at him from all angles. It was pretty adorable.

Towards the end of our stay Lailah started acting a little crazy and was running everywhere. She was more or less chasing the people in front of her.

 And running away from Dad.
 And running away from Mom.
 Oh wait, what's this?
Try to catch me if you can.
Her feet crack me up in this picture. I have never seen her stand like that before.

A Bunny on the loose.

Last Saturday, the neighbors Rabbits got loose and one of them made it's way to Grandma Lynnie's house. The neighbors weren't home, so she made sure it was safe by putting him in a kennel. And Lailah, made sure he had plenty to eat.

It was a good Saturday morning. And bunny was reunited with it's family.

I love Lailah. I do. I do.

I've not been very good at making "Friday with Lailah" updates per se. Now that it's become a habit to take Friday's off and we have gotten in the routine, I find that some Friday's I don't even get the camera out. But, that doesn't mean that we don't have good times together. So, rather than try to make a Friday with Lailah post, I will just try to do better at updates all together, whatever they may be. And, I am sure that there will be plenty of Lailah in there.

I did take these pics last Friday, she LOVES books. She spends time in her room everyday, "readin' books". Her day is not complete without some book time.

I like to peek in at her when she doesn't know and listen to her pretend like she is reading. Most of the time the stories she comes up with are far better than the actual books.

When I started taking pictures of her and infringing on her personal time, she gave me some interesting faces.

 Such a cheese head. =)

Dont Wanne be fat no more updates x's 2

One good update, one not so good update. I'm a bit behind:

Last week's weigh in: 184.2 For a loss of 1.2 lbs that week.

And this week's weigh in 185.4 For a gain of 1.2 lbs. Ahh, poop stains!!!

It's crappy, but it happens. It just means I have to work harder this week. I didn't go grocery shopping last weekend so I wasn't prepared throughout the week and I didn't make the best of choices. I also wasn't feeling very well, being treated for an abscessed tooth. The pain was making me tired and disinterested in working out, and the antibiotics I was on made me feel constantly hungry. It's a new week. Tomorrow I will hit the store and get prepared for the week. Be sure to tune in for my loss next week. =) Hopefully it's more than 1.2 lbs. to make up a little bit for the gain.

Don't wanna be fat no more - UPDATE

Another update on my weight loss journey. This week was another good week of progress.

Stats are:

Last week's weigh in: 187.2

This week's weigh in: 185.4

For a loss of 1.8 lbs.

Total loss thus far of 6.8 lbs. (in 3 Weeks)

It was another week of work outs and calorie counting, and it paid off again. It just goes to show that all the excuses I was making before were what was holding me back. Is it a pain in the ass, you bet it is. It means having to make extra time in an already limited day to work out for at least a half hour. And it means having to know what I am going to eat and the calories, fat, protein, carbs and fiber in everything. But is it worth it...hell yes. I am already finding my pants sliding off, and I can tell a difference in the way I look and feel.

This week I took another couple of days out from working out because I haven't been feeling well, but I continued to eat healthy. I am hoping to get a full week of workouts in this week as well as continue with good nutrition and see where we are at next Sunday. At this point, it's become rewarding enough that I get excited to see where I can take myself for the next weigh in. Until then...Carpe Diem.

Lailah had a bad day...Mommy did too

This Saturday was interesting to say the least. We all have a bad day from time to time, and Saturday was Lailah's bad day. She woke up on the wrong side of the bed. From the moment I went in to get her out of her crib to the moment she closed her eyes and finally fell asleep for the the night. She was just off. Much thanks to Lynnie and Mark for watching her for a while so I could take a much needed nap. I'm convinced as of late, that if given the opportunity I could sleep for 24 hours. But with a child, that is not even a remote possibility, so just being able to get in a couple hours, is so appreciated - especially on such a challenging day. So glad that Sunday was a much better day.

Just kind of distant all day. Nothing really made her happy.
This was pretty much the look of the day.
Lailah is normally like a beautiful happy sunflower. So, it was a rough day for all of us. I don't like not being able to make her happy - and I don't like being frustrated and upset myself. I realize I take her generally happy disposition for granted. I really have a great kid, and I am so glad that Sunday was a better day - for her - and for me.

Friday with Lailah 8-10-12

This Friday with Lailah I had plans to take her somewhere fun like the Dinosaur Museum or something, but I really wasn't feeling very good, so we went to the local park instead. Lailah had her dinos in hand and was excited to scavenge for dino good.

Dinos like this spot according to Lailah. Mom wonders why there is a door in the woods.

Must find dino food, they are withering away. Looking very carefully.

And we also got some more artwork in. I am really enjoying her new found love of drawing. I have started putting paper up on the living room wall and leaving markers out for her to have at it whenever she wants.

Don't wanna be fat no more - UPDATE

Last weeks weigh in was 190.4

This week 187.2 for a 3.2 lbs loss

For a total loss of 5 lbs in 2 weeks!!!

Talk about awesome-sauce. This week I took several days off of working out. I started feeling extremely exhausted again, to a point where I was having a hard time functioning. So I took a B12 shot a few days ago and I am starting to feel a bit better. That doesn't mean I spent a ton of time on the couch or anything, and I was still very good with my nutrition. I'm pretty stoked about the loss and I am looking forward to Zumba tomorrow night!

Friday Art with Lailah & a Bee's Game

This Friday with Lailah we put some paper up on the wall and had some fun with markers. It was a laid back day with my favorite little person. And she got pretty in to her artistic masterpiece.

She asked me to draw her a dinosaur, and then she pushed me out of the way and took over. =)

After a fun filled day with Lailah bean, it was off to a Bee's game with Andy. It was a lot of fun, and there were even several home runs! A good way to end a Friday.
